By acting emotionally intelligent (like a grownup), the man was able to voice his concern about the overtime requirements and make his boss aware of the equipment problems. His behavior gained her respect and she, in turn, treated him respectfully. It also sounds like the equipment issue will be addressed and, possibly, the overtime issue, t00.

He was able to keep his job and she was able to keep a valued employee.

(And neither one of them experienced high blood pressure!)

Look, there's no guarantee if you treat someone with dignity and respect in an emotionally intelligent manner, that they'll treat you with the same dignity and respect. But, they probably will. Going in with aggressiveness and insults is likely to yield the same in return or something similar to what happened to the man in the bad emotional intelligence skills video.
